| Posted 18 April 2006 |
Ystad's popular newspaper,
Ystads Allehanda, has launched a mini web site dedicated
to Mankell's novels. The site is titled
Wallander's Ystad and is available in
English,
Swedish and
German languages. One of the best features on the site is an interactive
map of Ystad and surrounding communities. Visitors can see a multimedia
tour of the places featured in the novels as well as locations used
in the many Wallander films. They even point out where Mankell has
taken artistic license with buildings in Ystad. Each of the locations
is detailed with photographs and a text and audio tour.

Also, if you'd like some pictures of Ystad to use as your computer
desktop, they have a couple prepared for you to download:

The red fire truck is used for the
In Wallander's Footsteps tours of Ystad given by the volunteer
firemen.
This is a very nice site and well worth the time to explore it.
