The White Lioness DVD intro
Posted 2003-04-30
I finally was able to buy a copy of The White Lioness in paperback today. Oddly enough, I was able to buy it on DVD from the US last month so I already know the plot. The movie was enjoyable and worth the expense of importing it (almost 50 USD for me). The video and audio quality were not great but it was perfectly watchable. The movie is filmed in several languages (mainly Swedish, English and South African) with English sub-titles printed directly onto the video whenever the dialog is not in English. This movie was made for television by Sweden's SVT in Malmö. I'll be providing additional details and links in the near future. As a side note, five of the Kurt Wallander books have been turned into films. So far I've found two for sale in Swedish and one in German in addition to THW. Hopefully we will be treated to these on DVD with English sub-titles in the future.
