Swedish
Television (SVT) produced eight 46 minute episodes of a television
series called "The Talisman" ("Talismanen" in Swedish) written by
Henning Mankell and Jan Guillou in 2003. Here is a description:
| |
The Talisman is a result of
a unique collaboration between two of Sweden's most-acclaimed
writers: Henning Mankell and Jan Guillou. Ex-cop Wallton
hunts an ancient, mystic Arabic talisman. The talisman changes
hands many times. Wallton gets accused of a series of murders
during his quest. Who can you trust?
The series examines many highly topical subjects: crime
spreading from Eastern to Western Europe, Corruption within
the police force. In addition, the series also takes a comical
approach on many other contemporary issues.
