| Mankell wins Gumshoe award, nominated by LA Times |

Henning Mankell's novel, The Return of the Dancing Master, has won Mystery Ink's Gumshoe award for Best European Crime Novel of 2004. The other nominees were: Carlos Ruiz Zafon, The Shadow of the Wind; Donna Leon, Doctored Evidence; Boris Akunin, Murder on the Leviathan; Ian Rankin, A Question of Blood. You can read their thoughts on The Return of the Dancing Master here.The Los Angeles Times announced the finalists for their 2004 Book Prizes on March 9th, including The Return of the Dancing Master in the Mystery/Thriller category. Other books in contention are: Alan Furst, Dark Voyage; Charles McCarry, Old Boys; Kem Nunn, Tijuana Straits; Ian Rankin, A Question of Blood. Congratulations and good luck to Mr Mankell. |
