| Mankell wins Gumshoe award,
nominated by LA Times |

Henning
Mankell's novel, The Return of the Dancing Master,
has
won Mystery Ink's Gumshoe award for Best European
Crime Novel of 2004. The other nominees were:
Carlos Ruiz Zafon, The Shadow of the Wind;
Donna Leon, Doctored Evidence; Boris Akunin,
Murder on the Leviathan; Ian Rankin, A

The Los Angeles Times announced
the finalists for their 2004 Book Prizes on
March 9th, including The Return of the Dancing
Master in the Mystery/Thriller category. Other
books in contention are: Alan Furst, Dark Voyage;
Charles McCarry, Old Boys; Kem Nunn,
Tijuana Straits; Ian Rankin, A Question of
Blood.
